[Mae walks up in a bed. That alone is enough to set off alarm bells. She remembers very distinctly going to sleep last night, leaning against a half destroyed wall with a dog next to her. And considering how...well non destroyed the room was looking....

She very quickly snuck out of bed and started to look around the house. Grabbing a baseball bat from the small boy's room as she went. Never hurt to have a weapon when you've been kidnapped. She looks outside.

......well this wasn't good. She quickly goes back inside and get's dressed, interogates some drones and locates the phone.]

Dr. Braun, if you're there. We need to talk because I'm pretty sure being back in this place is impossible considering everyone died last time.

[And with that she hangs up. She's sure if he is behind this...and who else would be? It's just like last time...though she admits it's ...different and slightly more impossible...that if he was behind it, he'd be calling back to gloat at any moment. Until then.

Mayfield there is a woman wandering around carrying a baseball bat like a weapon. You can find her.

A. On her lawn examining the grass, or her arm. They...feel more real then the simulation. But there's also colour here, so maybe it's just a tech upgrade.

B. Going through your mailbox or garbage can. Hey, who knows what valuables you might have thrown away....like this bottle cap, score!

C. Interrogating young drone girls at the playground. Seriously, which one of you is in charge here?

D. Looking through windows of peoples houses to see if they're abandoned. Aka: where the hell is the failsafe to this place]

[Going to put the food down and quickly fill a glass. She takes a long drink and sighs.]

I'd almost forgotten what that tasted like.

"Oh yeah! Don't drink the milk here. The wacked out milk man likes to poison it. I mean you can drink the milk you get from the store, but the stuff that comes in the morning. Bad for you."

The milk?

....wait. So ...what is this place? I mean it looks... incredibly like the simulation I had to go in, to find my dad. But everyone's dead in that now and there's no way I was dragged back to the vault by some Robo brain or whatever.

Also I figured by this point I'd have heard from Dr. Braun again. He seems like the type to gloat.

"I CAN'T say its not some weird virtual simulation, but I've been in those and generally, it doesn't hurt as much when you get hurt in those as it does here so I think its something more sinister. Like I said earlier, there are a bunch of brains working on it, and they have a paper at the library on it all. Its all really over my head though, I was a super hero back home, not a brain."

Superhero? Like in comic books?

"I guess. I mean I try!"

Strange.

[Just going to get some more water and then walk over to her food. Ah sweet delicious non radiated food.]

So, there lots of "super heroes" in your world then?

"Mine? Yeah, there are a bunch of them. Not to say all of us are the best, but its about doing what you can."

Fighting the good fight?

"Something like that."

[He shrugs]

"But there are people from a bunch of worlds here."

Hm...

Well this place seems nice but I'm kinda busy back home. Any groups trying to get out that I can join?

"There are like 5 of them. But, they don't really seem to know all that much. Every time they get close the town does something that ruins the group cohesion."

Wonderful.

Guess I'll have to keep my ears open.

So how big is this place anyway?

"About as big as any small town. Couple of miles. Its not all that interesting either."

Well the last place like this I was at only had a block, so that's an improvement already.

"There's also the drones here you have to well.. I guess put up with?"

How annoying are they?

"They're the weird, glassy eyed freaks that are out there. They're going to tell you you've lived your whole life here, that everything is normal. There used to be three of them in this house, but since you're here I'm going to say that number is down to two. They're on the streets moving about in their own stupid little routines that never change, they never remember anything you do to them past a day and they're really REALLY creepy if you think about it."
